Svetlin Nakov is a Bulgarian software developer, founder of the Software University (SoftUni), author of numerous books and articles on programming.

He started programming when he was only 11 years old, in 1991, and received his PhD in Computer Science in 2010. He established National Academy of Software Development (NASD) in 2005. In 2009 he founded the Telerik Academy for Software Engineers and in 2010 the Telerik School Software Academy was officially opened. At the end of 2013, the Software University (Softuni) initiative was born.

In 2004 he received “John Atanasov” Award from the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, and in 2014 he received “Young Manager of the Year” award.
